Buggy Boy the Dog needs a home
If this dog could talk, oh the stories he would tell! Buggy Boy came to Northern Virginia from Turks and Caicos on an evacuation transport flight after the recent hurricanes in the Caribbean (courtesy of IBC Airways and the SAVEDOG Project) with Operation Paws for Homes being the sponsor on this end of the journey. Operation Paws for Homes had secured rescue organizations to take Buggy and 4 other dogs but unfortunately that rescue fell through. We were contacted by the boarding facility to see if we could help this guy out and after hearing his story and meeting him in the flesh we knew we had to help. What makes Buggy's story all the more compelling is that pit bull type dogs are BANNED on Turks and Caicos so the authorities down there would have been well within the law to euthanize him rather than putting him on a transport out. We don't know for sure but we'd like to believe that they saw the same sweet, affectionate personality that we saw and decided to give him a second chance.
Buggy has undergone temperament testing courtesy of the Olde Town Pet Resort while he was in boarding with them. They found him to be excitable but very attentive and eager to please. It is likely that the excitable piece of him will settle down once he's out of the kennel environment. He's been through a lot in his short life but we feel that he has terrific potential.
